Workhouse Bronze Gun II
This Workhouse Bronze Gun II coil tattoo machine comes from my personal collection and represents a very different era of professional tattoo equipment — when traditional coil machines were still the everyday working tools of tattoo artists.
The Bronze Gun II was produced by Workhouse Tattoostuff of Olsztyn, Poland, a name closely associated with the Polish professional tattoo scene.
Although the exact production year of this particular machine is unknown, the Bronze Gun II was already in circulation by 2014, when examples of the model can be found in tattoo community sales listings. This makes it considerably older than some later distributor advertisements for the same model.
Built as a Working Tattoo Machine
The Bronze Gun II was designed primarily for color work, shading and filling and uses 10-wrap coils. Contemporary distributor information identifies the machine as a Color / Shader / Fill model manufactured by Workhouse Tattoostuff in Poland
This is a traditional electromagnetic coil machine with the weight, mechanical character and unmistakable sound that made classic coil machines such an important part of professional tattooing.
The machine can be connected using either RCA or a traditional clip cord, making it practical even alongside more modern equipment.
The Workhouse and Bazyl Story
There is also some history behind the Workhouse name.
Grzegorz “Bazyl” Bazirak was a Polish tattoo artist closely connected with Workhouse Tattoostuff and the tattoo community in Olsztyn. His creative work extended beyond tattooing: surviving accounts describe his workshop as a combination of tattoo studio, metalworking forge and motorcycle-painting workshop.
Bazyl died on 17 August 2021. Contemporary Polish coverage remembered him as an important figure — even a legend — of the Polish tattoo scene.
That history gives surviving Workhouse machines from this period a little more meaning today. They belong to a period of European tattooing when machines like the Bronze Gun II were mechanical working tools built around coils, springs, contact screws and the individual setup preferences of the artist.
The machine is in very good used condition and fully functional.
It has recently been:
• inspected
• adjusted
• tested
and is ready for its next owner.
As with any older professional tattoo machine, there are signs consistent with its age and previous use. Please examine the photographs carefully, as they form part of the description.
What’s Included
Workhouse Tattoostuff Bronze Gun II coil tattoo machine only, exactly as shown in my photographs.
From My Personal Collection
This machine wasn’t purchased for resale. It has been part of my own tattoo equipment collection.
Today I tattoo much less than I once did, and rather than leaving these older professional machines in storage, I would prefer them to go to tattoo artists or collectors who understand what they are and appreciate the history behind them.
The Bronze Gun II can still be appreciated as a functional old-school coil machine, but it is also an interesting surviving piece from the Workhouse Tattoostuff era of Polish tattoo equipment.
